I have set up my Firefox homepage to open 7 of my favorites in Tabs when I launch the program.
One of the pages has an auto update or reload every 2 minutes or so. I find it very annoying. It occasionally updates content, but mostly updates advertisements. If I'm scrolled down at the bottom of the page and it refreshes, it moves me to the top and I have to find my place again. If I'm on another tab entirely, their can be a tiny pause in what I'm doing as it does it's thing over there... I know next to nothing about HTML and what is the trigger to cause this this event. Is there any way I an control or inhibit the auto-refresh... Scott

I just noticed after I posted that the page has the following listed in the address window:
/us?refresh=on I'll try messing with that to see if it changes anything...

Ok, glad you found it... looks like the page was auto-refreshing itself. You can do that in Firefox though - right click somewhere on the page and choose reload every -> and then pick a time. Handy sometimes, but then you have to remember to turn it off...

ok, my fix didn't fix it. Not sure when it decided to refresh itself, but it did, and now the address has that "/us?refresh=on" there again at the end of the address.
I right clicked the screen for the reload option and it is not enabled. Any other thoughts? Scott

When the page is loaded hit the ESC key once.
Alternatively you could use this: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/992/ |

Awesome! Thanks Funk the add-on worked! It didn't even occur to me to check for an add-on.
