Default Try #2 (wrong area I assume) 85 camero 5-Spd Dead V6

I've got an 85 Camero 5-spd with a V6 I damaged heavily and am not interested in fixing it. (motor)

I wish to go to a V8 (w/carb rather than fuel inj.) Will an older small block bolt on to the 5 spd that comes in the 85? I'll worry about the motor mounts later....need to know if the motor and tranni will bolt together with or without adapter.

I'm going to assume I posted my first thread in the wrong area and therefore it was removed.

Thank you for your time.

Grant

Grant, thanks for joining up, but this is mainly a 1st gen site, even though some of the guys have worked on 3rd gens. That is probably the reason for no replies. Might want to try the question over on the 3rd gen site http://www.thirdgen.org/

Come on guy,you own one ! There is no "E" in CAMARO ! Also to answer your question, NO. The v-6 and v-8 transmissions are different, and will NOT work. That transmission is also very weak, so do yourself a favor and go different car shopping !

Nope not going to bolt up. Your lucky the engine went before the v-6, it's usally the other way around. Also go out and look at your bumper badge. It will tell you how to spell "Camaro"
