I am adding power door locks to my 1969 Camaro and have questions about the wiring.
The actuators only have two wires coming from them. This means to me that they are bi-directional (current direction biased) actuators. My question is how do I wire these things to work in both directions? Any body have any experience with a twin coil relay? Know where I can get one? Price? How to wire one? I know that I can use 4 standard relays to accomplish this feat but I would prefer a more professional approach with less wiring.
Any information that you have will be much appreciated.

You should only need 2 standard SPDT relays (
plus 2 two-wire actuators, and a reversing polarity switch) to complete the job. Why would you use 4? Are you isolating the doors to use separate switches?

actually, I found that I can get away with using two DPDT relays. I found that NAPA carries them for $23 or you can purchase them at Radio Shack for $6 each (tough decision) I have the wiring figured out at this time. I just need to bend the rods that actuate the lock mechanism. Harder than you may think. Will work on it this weekend and post results then.
