Cool

Hi,

My Dad just got a convertable IROQ and he doesn't know how to put down the top. He is in NC and I live in LA so I can't help him. Can anyone give me some quick instructions on how to do this so that I can tell him? He says that he un-does the latches in the fron by the windshield, but when he tries to push the top back it won't go back.

Thanks,
Speed

I have an '89 RS convert.

1. Pull latch at top of lh rear seat side panel. This releases the rear top latch. Push rear of top forward.
2. Press center button on rear of console to open top cover.
3. Release both front top latches, fold top into top well. I usually put a towel on the rear window to keep it from scratching. Close top cover.

When putting top up, fasten front latches first.

Converts were delivered with a top operation manual. Mine was missing and I really had to bug Helm to get one as they didn't list it.

That's it!!! If you can't figure out how to put down a top, I'm going to send to your house the C.C.P. (Classic Car Police) to pick up your keys. Only kidding!!!!
I'm glad to see any question about a convertible, I have a 69. Good luck

Wink

Hey, Thanks William. I figured there was a latch in the back because that is how it works on my old 450SL. Thanks for your help. It is much cheaper than flying all the way to North Caralina. Can you beleive that the Cheverlet dealership in NC couldn't figure it out either? I'd hate to live in that hill billy town.

Thanks again,
Speed
