A few months ago I bought a heavy duty front Wilwood disc brake kit. Last weekend I tore everything apart and started the assembly. In the kit they include a caliper mounting bracket to fit the Wilwood calipers. The holes on the spindle are about 1 inch wider than the holes in the bracket I need to attach to it. I have a '67 Camaro already equipped with front disc brakes. They are single piston caliper brakes, which doesn't really narrow it down because those went on a bunch of cars. I ordered the kit for the '67-72 Camaro disc or drum spindle. I called Wilwood and he said that spindle was also used on almost every GM passenger car between '67 and '72. He also said that there are 6 different brackets for GM spindles, so I need to tell them which car my spindles came off of.
Here are the casting numbers:
Driver side: 5463496 near the edge of the spindle circle toward the front of the car.
3954815GM1 halfway between and inline between the upper and lower ball joints.
Passenger side: 5463497R
both at the same locations
Thanks in advance for the help.
