Question

I purchased new spring-ring battery cables from Ground-up and the Neg (ground) cable for the battery to the alternator bracket is too short? It will not reach from the top of the bracket to the top Neg post of the battery. I was thinking of grounding the the block but that will not reach either. The cable seems pretty short to me. Anyone have these cables or suggestions......

Can you turn your battery around so that the neg post is towards the inside of the car, closer to the block?
Otherwise buy a new longer cable.

I have a 67 and mine is grounded to the block. I made the mistake a while ago of getting a new battery and the cables would not fit. It turns out there are two different batteries, with the post on different sides. Make sure you have the battery which, when installed, has the neg post closest to the engine and on the inside of the car.

RickB1B, you nailed it......the battery has
the neg terminal on the outside/away from the
engine.....I did not think of that, I just assumed there was a "standard" configuration for the POS and NEG on batteries. Looks like
I will buy a new battery......thanks
