Single fuel line or double fuel line. Was this a small block, big block, Z-28, SS, RS option? When I was trying to find out if my 69 was an original big block or not, this was one of the questions asked to me.

The double fuel line was used on 350 & 396 quadrajet cars, and the single fuel line was used on everything else.

if you have and single fuel line and it's a true 396 car, then it had the solid lifter 396/375 hp which only came in the ss and would not have a/c. this really doesn't prove it was a 396, you can just eliminate the 396/325 or 350 hp models. as said, single fuel lines were used on 6's, 2 barrel v-8's, also on z/28's and 396/375 hp (holley carbs).

California cars I've seen used single 3/8" fuel lines unless they had air condiditioning.
I've read about low perf Camaros using 5/16" fuel lines, but I have two small block cars here that are low perf Qjet type and have the 3/8" single lines.
