My friends 91 z-28's 700R4 trans has gone south. He wants to install a th350. My question is, will a long tail shaft th350 be a direct swap or will drive shaft mods be required. No need to worry about computer problems. This is now a carbureted car with no computer.

The long tail shaft will be a direct replacement.

You will also need a torque arm adapter kit.

It will not swap directly . Converter and torque arm will not work.
Long shaft is not the same length.
By the time your done a well built 700r4 will be cheaper and more reliable.
