I am in the process of setting up my 69 with a great stereo. I have Infinity Perfect 6.1 for the front, coaxle 6x9 for the rear deck and a 12" sub for the trunk. I debated putting the 6.1s in the doors but decided to fabricate some kick panels after some research. The kick panel is the best location for the front speakers when imaging and sound quality are considered. I have a manual car and it looks like I'll have just enough room for the clutch pedal but the e-brake has to go! I plan to replace the e-brake pedal with a pull type. If this gained your interest and want to know how to fabricate some kick panels let me know, I have a bunch of good info.
