Its time for me to replace my heater core in my 70 Camaro. My question is, has anyone been able to do it without taking the fender off, and if you did could you give me instructions on how. And is it necessary or would it be easier if I took off the dashboard?

The fender stays but you have to remove the inner fender (wheel well). It is much easier to remove than 1st Gen's because the inner fender's "lip" is on the outside of the fender. Anyway, the heater core comes out from the engine side and once the inner fender is out it comes out fairly easy. No need to do anything inside the car.

Good Luck,

John
