Question

I just recently purchased a 8" X 1 11/16" harmonic balancer from D & R Classics namely Steve Drueck. It is for the 67/68 302 and was wondering how to identify it as such. It has at some point in its history had the mark cut into its surface for the 69 302 with TDC letters as well. There doesn't seem to be any numbers on this piece. I'm building a 69 302 and found a balancer for a 69 so I don't need the 68 balancer. Also, I have a timing chain cover that is for a 69(?) with 11- stamped on the front. Did Chevrolet make a habit of not finishing there stamping procedure, or is that the way they came. I plan on putting both these items on eBay, but the way things are, all the info you can supply to buyer helps in the sale. Anybody have any thoughts or help on this?

Thanks,
Gary

67/68 had the timing mark roughly in line with the keyway. I think it's actually about one or two degrees counter clock wise from in line with the keyway.
The 69 up balancer has the mark moved around 10 degrees counter clockwise from the keyway. Or about 8 degrees from the earlier mark.

All that was on there origonally should be a cut line for TDC, no stamped letters.
Don't know about the timing cover.
