Question

currently i have an edelbrock performer intake and a holley 650 carb with and drop base K&N filter 4in and the hood just closes without hitting the air cleaner.
i want to instal a performer RPM intake and 750 edl carb. will the hood clear the set up with the same K&N element or any element?
i have an 80 camaro coupe stock hood 350/350.
anybody else tried the same setup?
suggestions?
thanks

I am doing essentially the same thing to my 77 nova...it currently has a performer intake/600 holley and a 4" K&N filter in a chrome edelbrock housing just clears the hood. I am going to swap in the engine from my truck that has vortec heads and a performer rpm intake. According to the edelbrock catalog, the vortec performer rpm (which is just a bit taller than the regular rpm intake) is roughly 3/4" taller than the standard performer, so I will end up using a 14x3 K&N to keep the total height about the same.
