Question

Does anyone have a smallblock with a Performer RPM intake, Edelbrock carb and a stock flat hood? I really want to use my stock hood but curious to see what others have done to get thiers to work.

I've got a performer RPM with Holley 750 on my 70 z/28 and with a drop base aircleaner I don't have any clearance problems with stock hood. I think first gens have a little more to play with so you should be fine.

Chris, what motor mounts are you using? My engine sits higher than the old one.

I have the RPM and an Edelbrock 600 also. No problem using the stock flat hood. With a 2in. open element cleaner it is up against the insulation. Maybe you have 307 mounts? I've been told they're higher. I think there were 3 kinds of SB mounts...302,307,327-350. I could be wrong, if so I apologize. Good luck. I also use the energy suspension polyeurithane (sp?) motor mounts. Good luck ~ John

Question

I have a 68 camaro with a stock hood and I want to put an edelbrock RPM Air-gap intake manifolk with an edelbrock 750 cfm. My question is do you think that it will all fit under the stock hood with the airgap and a K&N airfilter????

I think it will fit. I did some measuring last night and it looks like there is a one inch difference between stock and the RPM. The RPM and Airgap are the same height. I am looking at 1/4 inch that I need to drop and I should be good to go.
