I have a 68 Camaro that has the woodgrain center dash plate and a woodgrain ashtray. The grain runs vertically. This past weekend I purchased a woodgrain dash plate and woodgrain radio plate that looks exactly like my 68, except the grain runs horizontally. I know this isn't 68 Firebird, does anybody here know if it is 67 Camaro or Firebird.
Don't quote me, but I have heard that there was a mistake that happen in the factory that caused the grain to be put in horizontal instead of vertical like most Camaros built in 68. I could have this backwards. I will need to go and check my car (it is the standard build way). Anyway, it is "suppose" to be really rare to have this configuration opposite to most. If anyone else knows more about it I sure would like to know.
Sorry, I probably just made things worse for you.
When I saw the parts, I couldn't for the life of me remember which direction my woodgrain ran. I only bought it because it was the first time I had seen a woodgrain radio bezel and it was a package deal. The guy claimed it was from a 67 Firebird. I know 68 Firebirds weren't walnut.
