Question

I am looking for an after market am/fm cassette or cd player that will fit where the stock radio was but can't seem to find anything with the knobs far enought apart to fit! I know they Kenwood and Jensen sell radio's special made to fit but they want $170 for a am/fm cassette when one of better quality then that (but won't fit) you can buy for$79! So I guess my Question is what is everyone using for a radio in their 68 camaro's? would appreciate any suggestions my
e-mail is [email protected] THANKS!!

Usually the problem with aftermarket knob-type head units is trying to fit the original faceplate. The hole width is too wide.

There is an aftermarket face plate that is available through most reproduction distributors. There are two different sizes depending on the size of your unit. Black and woodgrain are available.

You may want to give Ground Up a try. They are a sponsor of this site. If they don't have it Ricks First Generation does.

Good luck

Carl

I purchased a Kenwood KRC2007 for my 67. I have not installed it yet since I am still waiting on the new face plate to come in. I did set it into place and it should mount up fine. I bought the system from a local stereo shop. It looks the same as the one in the Custom Auto Sounds phamplet. Yet it was alot cheaper.
