Question

I bought me a 79' Camaro with a 350 and Th350 trans. the problem is this the car runs great but since I bought it the rpm is gaining at 70mph and now runs at approx 4000 rpms much higher than when I first bought it. Any suggestions?

What does the fluid look like - red or very dark and burnt-smelling? Sounds like the direct clutch pack is shot and is dying. The only way the rpm's can steadily increase as you describe is because a clutch pack is slipping - it's rebuild time .
