Question

I have a power top on my 67 Conv.. My problem is it only goes up and down if I manually help it. Someone has to work the switch while I push or pull the top. How do I fix this? There is not any leaks in the pump hoses. Do I need to add some kind of fluid into the pump? I can see some fluid in the hoses but there is also alot of air, does this mean anything. I thank you in advance for any help.
Thanks Darren

Darren...If you are getting power to your electric motor and it runs but the top doesnt move, it is probably the hydraulics. Low on fluid, air in line. There are also rubber seals that can go bad in the little motor. Do a search for 'hydraulic' here and youll find out more.

You mayneed to check the level in the pump. When full, the level is equal to the plug. Use dextron[transmission fluid]
