Question

Okay... I went to switch over to some AC Delco Rapid Fires and they gave me some #7's. Well I got to the third plug on the driver's side and the plug decided not to fit. It was to short and wouldn't screw in. I took them back and the guy gave me some #4's, part number 25164642. The guy scared me though, he said he's not sure if these are hot enough but they'll fit. Gee that's all I want Does anyone know if the #4's are okay for a 68 late model 350? Specs at http://68.dhs.org/

Thanks!!!

I'd get the right plugs. The #7 should be the right heat range. I can't see how two will fit and the third was too short.

Well what I mean by too short is that the tread on the plug is not going in. The tread section of the plug is too short. Your right however the first two went in. I even tried the other plugs, thinking it was a wierd threading issue. But when I look at it with a flash light, it just isn't reaching. The first two I put in, barely reached. It could be because I think the engine is a later model and not the original 68. Where are the stamps on the engine block to tell? I looked but couldn't see any. I'll crawl under neath her tomorrow.

Thanks!

Sounds like you're trying to put gasketed plugs in heads with tapered seats. Look at the spark plug hole and see if the seat is tapered or flat.
