Thumbs up

I am going through this as I type this. I have a zz430. I have the Sanderson Q1000 on it now. I need to put the motor in the car...maybe today. I will then bring it down to the muffler man on tuesday to have the exhaust finished. The only thing I noticed is that the q1000 ports were not quite as wide as the D-port fastburn heads. I wasn't happy about that but that is what I am going with. I will let you know how things go. I am in Michigan also.

thanks jammer for the reply. i just got my qp1000 headers today, you are right about the ports, looks good on the engine though.i hope they work out for us,while test fitting the header i noticed the header flange covered the two bolt holes for the bowtie wire looms.how did you mount yours? i am a little behind you in my project, are you using a manual or auto trans? i will keep you up to date also.

Cool

the main concern should be the top of the hedder or the roof of the port.if it matches here it shouldn't be too bad.this is the highest flow area exiting the port.if ti hangs down here you may want to consider something else, maybe some super comp hedders and have them ceramic coated.

Gator,

I am also running fastburn heads (on a '79 Z28) and ended up going with Sanderson block hugger style headers with "FB" suffix on the part number (meant for fastburn heads). This is the only soultion to my knowledge (and I did look) for those of use that manual trannies.

Jim Pace GM Parts warehouse sells a Hedman header that also fits fastburn heads for auto trannies only.

I am using a manual transmission. The header does overlap the wire loom bolt holes. I also have the Dr. Gas crossover setup. I will try and keep you posted how it goes.
