I purchased my 68 camaro as a bare shell. It originally came with a/c. i noticed that the hole in the firewall is drastically different than the one for non a/c cars. what should i do about just putting a heater core in the car. i dont need a/c. i would like a clean underhood installation ( no a/c "suitcase" if possible)

The cleanest would be to get a non-AC piece of firewall and weld it in. On a '69 there is a notch for a vacuum valve under the cowl. You may have to cover this. Also for non-AC there are "ASTRO VENTILATION" holes up under the cowling. These would be hard to cut open , I'm not sure if "68 had them but I think so. There is also a shroud around the blower fan on AC cars.
