Real,
The 327 and the 350 are both 4 inch bore motors. You will have a 327 either way. The 350 Blocks are the same as the 327 blocks. Only differences are the early motors use a small main journal crank aand the later ones a large main crank. 327 crank will still be a327 no matter how you slice it.

If you find a large journal 327 crank, Yes it will fit. Benefits? You could build a 4 bolt main 327. These can be made to make some good HP, but not as much torque at lower rpm's as a 350 would be. Alot of people say the 327 was the best small block that Chevrolet built. There are alot of pros and cons, it just all depends on what you intend to do with, or expect out of the engine?

Thanks I was asking because I just bought this 68 RS 3 weeks ago. It has a 350 Block #3970010 VO217CUT. With Camel Back Head #3917291 and a 327 Crank #3911001. The Block is bored out 40 over. I am just trying to figure out why the previous owner went this route I like what he did as I can burn rubber up to 3rd gear ( have not tried 4th yet )
