B&B makes spacers for your covers which are available from Jeg's for about $90. It would probably be less expensive to buy taller covers.

I put rollers under my stock covers on my '67 - just used a double thick gasket - can't notice -> unless pointed out - -

check your local parts store....

You can spend as much or as little as you want on valve covers. Swap meets can give you a good price. I found spacers for cheap but they're not everywhere. If it were mine, I'd go the double gasket route as a cheap, fast fix and look for covers you really like and can afford.

Check with Mr. Gasket, I know they offered thicker gaskets for the 86 and older style. the 87 and newer are the center bolt design, and may be hard to find. perhaps you can have them fabricated out of aluminum???
