Question

Can I put a long style water pump off of a 78 camaro on to a 68 camaro that originally had a short style water pump or will it push the fan into the radiator??? I took some measurments and the long water pump would push the fan 1 5/8" closer to the radiator.

You can put a long style water pump on a 68 Camaro but you have to be sure that you have the long style belt pulleys and brackets (alt, power steering pump, ect.)that go along with it. Just remember if you try to get belts, ask for 69 model stuff (first year of long water pump). It will work if you have all the stuff, just won't be "technically" correct. I assume you are talking about a small block motor? I don't know that much about the big block variety. Hope this helps.

If it has 68 heads on it you can't do it there is no place to bolt the accessories.
