What should my timing be on a LT1 motor out of a 93 Camaro Z28? A mechanic told me it needed to be timed.

He's joking with 'ya....the computer controls the timing and is not adjustable (unless you change proms, computers, or get a program and prom-burner to do it yourself).

If he wasn't joking, find another mechanic!!!!!!!!!!

You can get the programmer from alot of on line stores like Wrench head, and Jegs, and so forth.I havd had a couple of them and on a stick I see no diffrence but on a automatic it really turns on.You can program it the way you want it and it is very easy, just follow the steps.I love them on cars under warranty because the programmer stores your old program and reloads it when you go to the dealer for warranty work.

93 still uses a removeable prom. You can get them from Summit and Jeg's. Check out www.tpis.com. They have a lot of stuff for that engine and are quite helpful.

Hi Blondie,

I am in Texas so Ark is just next door and I get prom's for the 93 stuff from Street and Performance in Mena ARK.

They are about $200.00. I don't have their phone or email here at the house but if you want it let me know.
