Were all the rear defroster grills in 1969 metal or were some plastic? I have read that late 69 used plastic. thanks

Mine is plastic with lower plastic housing. There are 2 #'s on the grill. Part # is 9884678 and 9624516.And the part # on the lower half is PN3023590-1-. I took it out of the car to do restoration work.It was in the car when I bought it,and it has never been restored previously. Now it could have been installed sometime through the year's.But check your part #'s and let me know if there the same.

I see alot of people selling plastic grilled and housed setups on ebay and saying they are for '69 Camaro's but all documented originals I have seen are metal. Just my $.02...

The Motor is stamped delco-products rochester ny 5044794 10 74
The other numbers are the same as Pat's The grill Part # is 9884678 and 9624516.And the part # on the lower half is PN3023590-1-.
If that is a date code on the motor I guess it is 10th month 1974. Is it a service replacement or was the same size defroster used in a 1974 Camaro? here is a pic.
