Why does Posi-traction suck in the snow and how well does it do in the sand?

in slick conditions posi is sometimes benificial, although when you try to turn a corner, something(s) has to slip. the rear doesnt want to turn when it's locked up.

I don't know what you mean by "suck in the snow". Do you mean "hard to handle" or "won't lock up"? I put a posi in my old '81 El Camino and passed my brother in his 4X4 S-10 Blazer on a snowy hill. The problem with a posi is that sometimes there is not enough traction in the snow to lock up both wheels and it will spin one. A locker works much better in snow, mud and sand where traction is very limited. That is what I put in my S-10 4X4. If you mean that you can't handle it then you need to learn how to drive with the throtle or stay off slick roads.
