I'm taking some time away from Camaros to work on a project car with my son, a '72 Chevelle, and am currently trying to swap dashes from the sweep style non-SS to a non-tach SS with lights, not gauges. I was told that the easiest way to make the switch would be to purchase a wiring harness for the new dash, so I have a general question that goes along with that: Can I use only a different dash wiring harness, or will it be necessary to switch all other harnesses along with it (engine compartment, etc.)? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Brent-You would have better luck if you posted your question here: http://www.chevelles.com/

It is a mirror site of this one, but for Chevelles.

You could also call M & H Wiring Fabricators. They build very good harnesses and were quite helpful and knowledgeable when I questioned them about my Camaro. I don't have their number handy, but I believe their web site is www.wiringharness.com

Damn I miss my '72 El Camino!
