I'VE ALREADY POSTED HERE SEVERAL TIMES AND READ ALL THE POSTS ON FRAME CONNECTORS. I AM ALSO AWARE OF THE DIFFERENT METHODS TO MODIFY THEM FOR CONVERTIBLE USE. MY QUESTION IS DOES ANYONE MAKE THEM FOR CONVERTIBLES YET? WHEN IT COMES TIME FOR ME TO DO MINE I WILL MODIFY AFTER MARKET TIES ACCORDINGLY, ALTHOUGH I PREFER TO USE AN ENGINEERED TIE IF POSSIBLE. ANYONE KNOW OF NEWW TIES ON THE MARKET YET?
I am over in DE and have a 67 Convertible with frame connectors. My advise . . . stay away from the aftermarket connectors for a 67 convertible because they will not fit right and will need modifications.
I would suggest going to a qualified "Frame and Chasis" shop or a shop that does frame and chasis work for drag race cars. There are a number of them in South Jersey near ATCO.
I know of a great Frame and Chasis shop in DE that did the work on my frame connectors and they are strong. As you know they are basically square tube with welded flanges the bolt of wled to the front and back clips. A qualified shop can custom make these for you pretty cheap. I have mine welded in place.
Delaware Chasis Works in Townsend DE perfromed the work for me. They owners name is Joe and his number is 302-378-3013. He would be able to give you good, sound advise.
