Does anyone know who the best insurance company is that will insure a modified but streetable 81 Z28.
I am finding that some companies donot want to insure this kind of car because it is classified as a hotrod, muscle car, etc. Not to mention the fact my son (the owner) is 20.

We live in Toronto and would really appreciate any help others may be able to give us.

We have spend a long time waiting to get this car on the road.

Thanks

My insurance is through State Farm and they have wonderful customer service. I am not sure if they are up there in the ice where you live.

Try Hagerty Classics....they have agreed value policies. The insured mine for 50k...no questions asked except that it really has to be worth what you say. You can see a pic of my car on the exchange it's a orange 69 under my toy....(there are 2 under my toy, mine the orange one with 18" TT II wheels)

I too have State Farm for my car, its the whopping 88.00 per year.

but with the historic insurance, you can only drive weekends, holidays, car shows, and special events

when I asked the agent what a "special event" consisted of, he replied "its sunny!"

but you have to be no more than 2500 miles per year.

I've got mine through a company called Condon & Skelly. It is mainly for hotrods, streetrods, musclecars. I do have a mileage restriction, but I think it can be set up in diff. ways. I pay around $180/yr.
This is for full coverage.

Hagerty doesn't have a milage limit...you can drive it as much as you want as long as it's not your daily driver

I tried a few of the specility insurance companys, but they were all to restrictive for me. I do not use my car for a daily driver but I do drive quiet a bit. As I was shopping for ins. I realized that if something happened I did not want to have think of an excuse why I was driving my car!I called my agent at Nationwide and he got me a great policy. It runs about 450.00 per year. NO RESTRICTIONS TO WORRY ABOUT.
