I have a 68 327 2bbl. Where is the timing tab that the Chevy service manual keeps pointing out? The engine goes in tomorrow, and I want to time it right, but on none of the peices do I find this mysterious timing tab. Could it have been removed? Can I buy a new one?
Thanks in advance!

Are you talking about the aligator teeth to know home many degrees the timing is set at? If you don't see it there then it's been removed. You should be able to get another one on. Most people do like my dad and time by "ear", which I do the same, but I still like checking the timing.

Rick's has them for $3.00 (#TCH-14), and most speed shops have the Delco chrome version.
