I have a 68 plain jane that I would like to update a little. It has the original steering column and wheel and I would like to update it to a gen2 (I like the "string wrap" of the 78) syle steering wheel. Is this possible?
I am wondering about using the whole column from a gen 2 even though the ignition switch is on the column --any suggestions? I just hate the big a$$, busted up wheel that is on there! Also the turn sigs are busted and the whole thing sort of flops around --I could rebuild it --I have the technology!! I just wonder if there is an easier (better) way. I plan on customizing the car to an extent -I want to keep it all Camaro just mix up the years a bit!

If you want to change out the column try this place. http://www.ididitinc.com/column.html
I have seen numerous articles in various hot rod mags. Seem to be a good product.

The late model steering wheel will fit. In the 80's the stock GM four spoke wheel was quite popular and alot of people installed them on their 1st Gens.
