The assembly manual is a big help, However many of the parts have been discontinued by GM. I have a post about rebuilding a column is this section you can do a search for it and find links to websites who can do a rebuild for about $150

you need pages UPC9-A1 through UPC9-A6 found on my website...

this is great for quick reference, but purchase an assembly manual, best 10 bux youll ever spend.

Thanks everyone, but i need a breakdown of whats inside of the column. Where can i find a assembly manual? Local bookstore or Camaro restoration place? Which manual would be the most helpful and detail oriented?
Thanks for your help!!

You can get one from any first gen restoration place, I also have the 67 chassis repair manual It has an exploded view of steering column and all the parts. "very helpful" I recommend it as well. As I said both can be purchased at a resto shop. Good luck.
