Depends on which COPO you are talking about...
COPO 9650AA-ZL1 4-speed car-49 built
COPO 9650BA-ZL1 automatic car-20 built
COPO 9651AA-L72 4-speed car-Not known exactly how many cars built, but roughly 800+ engines coded for this COPO were built at Tonawanda.
COPO 9651BA-L72 Automatic-same as above, but only roughly 130+ engines built.
COPO 9737-Yenko sports car conversion-Not all Yenkos had this, and one ZL1 does. Guess as to Yenko production, is 198-201 at this time, I'm sure someone can update this figure. Please correct me if my figures are wrong! I'm curious myself to know more.

I have read that there were approx. 54 COPO 9737 1968 Yenko Camaro's made with 140 mph speedometers and 4:10 rears. More may have been sent to other dealers.
50 9738 COPO 1968 Nova's made with the L78 396/375 and TH400 trans. This was done to qualify the Nova to race in the NHRA drag racing automatic class.
99 1969 COPO 9562/9737 Yenko Chevelles were made. More COPO 9562 Chevelles were sent to other dealers
2 COPO 9567 ZL1 prototype 1969 Camaros
176 COPO 9010 LT1 Yenko Deuce 1970 Novas made with more sent to other dealers
I think the Yenko Stinger Corvairs were made under the COPO process
also many other cars and trucks were made useing the COPO process that were not high performace vehicles

The COPO 9737 option was available on other COPO cars but was called the "Yenko Sports Car Conversion" in offical Chevrolet literature. Don Yenko must have had some good connections with the right people at Chevrolet.

Actually C.O.P.O. gets all the attention for it's Hi-po special cars, but they were all makes and models, from taxi cabs, police cars, Utility vehicles, Ambulances, and any special ordered vehicle, even a paint code required a C.O.P.O. code.I have an article at home that details some special cars, and it's from Jim Mattison, he was the one that designated the C.O.P.O. code to build the only '68 Convertible Z28 for a G.M. executive, and many other cars.He went to work for G.M. in early 1967.
