I just bought 2 wiring harnesses which came
from M&H and the firewall plugs have this brownish sticky stuff all over the connectors. What is this stuff and should I clean it off before installing the harness
in the bulkhead connector?

Bob;

First off, I'd recommend that you ask M&H. They are the people that would know!

My bet is that it's an anti-corrosion goo and that you should leave it alone.

It is a combination heat sink and sealer compound, don't clean it off. Keeps corrosion from getting to the connector terminals, and needs to be there.

M& H does make nice reproductions, and this goo came with stockers, so they include it. Them guys is good.

I just replaced the front light harness on my 69 with a kit from Factory Fit. It had the same stuff for protection. Just plug it in.
