I have a 99 camaro v6 with a bad alternator.
what is the trick for getting the belt off. any help is appreciated.

i think all you have to do it get ratchet or breaker bar with the correct size socket that will fit the tensioner. then turn in the direction that will loosen the belt free. get a friend to help, as you hold the tensioner free your friend can take the belt off.
