I use Walker Dynomax stainless ultra turbo's. They work great on the dyno and do not reverb at rpm as others do. In the Turbo Buick's , drone at 25-2800 rpm is horrible. With these it is almost non-existant. I would reccommend full tailpipes all the way out from under car and it will lessen the offensive noise.

flowtech afterburner mufflers work well too. My car used to be amazingly loud with stock exhaust, with the afterburners I can't even hear the car once I get to a constant rpm. They have a nice throaty sound when you're into it but cruising they're as quiet as can be. I love them, they're cheap too, can get them for 39 dollars each. good luck

I have to agree with Bruce on the Dynomax... I will be using them on the '69 when I put headers on it this spring...

Hey WE4 thats the blacked out (bumpers and all) T-Type right? My father has a mint 87 WE4 with only 25k on it, original right down to the tires and everything. I'm hoping one days its mine. Sorry for getting off subject everyone!

I have those Dynomax Super Turbo's , while they sound nice, they are missing the noise that I personally associate with a muscle car. but they are Great for cruises. and louden up a bit "just a bit" when you crack into it. otherwise go with glasspacks, they rumble the best.

but most of all , its your personal preference with sound that is most important, not what everyone else is running.

It is important what other poeple are running Chris when you are asking what muffler people think is quiet, not what sounds the best. Sound quality is personal, noise volume is noise volume no matter who says it. I don't think glasspacks are the quietest which is what he is asking. I'm glad someone asked though as I am going to put duals on my Blazer but I want it quiet. Keep the remarks coming

I'm also running the afterburners on my car what I like most is you can hear the engine so if you need to troubleshoot under the hood you can really pin point problems but by the tailpipes it has a nice mello but deep tone

Shawn Peterson and I both put new exhaust systems on our cars last Spring. Shawn went with the Dynomax turbos and I chose MagnaFlows. Mine sound too "glasspack-like" for me (hey Chris - wanna buy some mufflers?) but Shawn's are just right. You can hear the rumble at idle and there is no doubt it's a performance car when he gets on it. But, they're quiet enough to not attract too much attention. Best of all - as was already said - they're cheap! I'm switching to the Dynomax's this Spring.

Bruce,

Have you been to Kassabians over in Dublin... The have 3 GN's right now. Looks like they got rid of the one that only has 380 miles on it...

Hey I'm using the flat turbo's from Walker & they sound like a muscle car at idle & are quiet when crusing, when you get on it they sound great, they are quiet enough as not to attract attention when crusing thru town & road checks but loud enough to let every one know that you have a HI-PO engine under the hood.

Cool cars WE4. My father does want to sell it only because he rarely drives it and he just bought a new truck that he would like to put in the garage but the Buick would have to go to do so. The only reason why he still has it is because he only wants to sell it to me but I can't buy it right now due to funds and the possibility of getting layed off. He will sell it to me ultra cheap too. I do plan on owning it someday.
