I have a 67 SS camaro that i am restoring. The hood that came on it was a standard one. The SS hood was long gone. My question is "can i put the hood oraments on a standard hood or will i have to buy a SS hood?" If i can put them on a standard hood what would i have to do to make it work and look good. Thanks for all of you help in advance.

Thumbs down

You could install SS hood stacks on a regular hood, although it would be difficult, and probably end up looking cheesy. The SS hoods are different than the regular hoods, there's a "hump", so to speak, in the area where the hood louvers go, so even if you put them there on a regular hood, it wouldn't be correct. Do yourself a favor, and get a real SS hood, repro's are decent, and generally in the 220 - 250 dollar range, although used ones can be found a little cheaper.......KZ

I'm with Kz on that, stay with the flat or buy yourself an SS.
