I have an aluminum intake off my 69 camaro that needs cleaned. What do I need to do to make it look new?

Send it to Jerry MacNeish to have it "re-skinned" - it'll look just like new. He just did an intake, three sets of valve covers, and an alternator for me, and they look terrific! Check his website (www.z28camaro.com) for more info.

I would just go get it blasted, be sure they use the right media to blast it. The sand will eat a hole or scar it. It might be like Walnut shell media, makes them look brand new.

I am wanting to do the same, a friend of mine just done his. And I thought he bought a new one, cause it looked way good.

If you are on a Budget you can clean it with aluminum wheel cleaner. Then go over it with warm water and dishwashing liquid, scrubbing it with a Scotch Brite pad. Rinse it well.

A good scrubbing with a good cleaner, let it dry and then use an asortment of wire brushes to shine it up . I would suggest using a mask though when using a wire brush as the particles and dust are nasty for your lungs.
