There are 1967 Pace Cars and 1969 Pace cars, but in 1968 Camaro wasn't the Pace Car for the Indy race.

I know that there was no "Indy" pace cars in 1968. There were some pace cars made for other races such as Daytona example: http://205.178.185.26/resto/restoarticles/pacecar.html also see: https://camaros.net/forum/Forum6/HTML/000225.html

post the trim tag info in the tag team section and Kurt S from camaros.org can probably figure out if it was a pace car or not.

As I understand it only the Indy pace cars were prepared by Chevrolet or offered as factory replicas. Someone set me straight if I have this wrong!

As for your question maybe tracing the title back to the first owner would prove it. I would study/research the history of the various races (Datyona etc.) to find out where '68 camaros were used as pace cars...
