Question

seeing that the question of your favorite color seems to be a big hit, has anyone ever heard of chevy putting a two tone paint job on the first generation camaro's. i personally have never heard of or seen one, but according to a book i have at home, it states that chevy offered a two tone paint scheme. in the book it lists the colors and at first i thought they were talking about stripes, but i was wrong. they call out a different color for the upper half and the lower half of the car.
has anyone ever heard of this or seen one. someone thought that they might have painted the roof to look like a vinyl top. i can't see that.
any thought's?

I have seen tag codes calling for upper and lower colors but have never seen differnet codes indicating a two tone.

I also have never seen a two tone first gen (come to think no generation).

Would be interesting? Where would the two tone break? At the body line?

The upper color was always on the the roof. The same code was also used for vinyl top colors.

I've seen a few 2 tone cars. The trim mouldings were different between a vinyl top and a 2 tone car. Those would be hard to find.........

There was one in the car corral at Auburn last fall, Turquoise and white, code 55 50 '69 SS350.
I had a '70 Chevelle ss396, code 55 10 Champagne gold and white.

TWO 2-tone cars just showed up on 'Tag Team'! Ironic.

One is a 61-63, Burnished Brown w/ Champagne top color. Both are not common colors. This is the first 61-63 I've ever seen.
