Just curious, why would you swap in a T-5? All I've ever heard about that tranny is that it's weak. Especially compared to say...a t-56. If the t-5 wasn't strong enough to put behind the 350tpi motor, I don't know why you'd want it in your hot rod.

I have a T5 behind my 350 and it works great. I have 3.73 posi 10bolt rear end so I retain good performance off the line while the OD makes it nice on the highway.

Unless you're putting out mondo-HP and doing 4000+rpm launches, the T5 will be fine. I romp on mine often as it's my daily driver and weekend warrior (current best of [email protected]).

As far as the installation, I can't comment as I didn't put it in myself. Biggest issue is probably going to be with the hydraulic clutch setup. The hydraulic clutch does not flange up to the firewall at the correct angle, so an adapter must be made.
