I love the looks of a rear spoiler on a 1st gen. I'm thinking about putting one on my 68 conv. Since the car's a 6 banger I doubt if I'll ever get it up over 80. Is there any negative effects from adding just the rear (not the front)? I just read an acticle on Camaro-Untoldsecrets. I'm still confused.

My car had both front and rear spoilers when I bought it. I took the front one off for now because I was scraping it a lot and tearing it up. I don't think I've been over 70 mph since then, but I haven't had any adverse effects from only having the rear spoiler.

I have a rear spoiler on my 69. The only problem I have had is it make the trunk a lot heavyer. It tends to make things rattle more.

The most beneficial thing a rear spoiler does for an early Camaro is keeping morons that think the trunk of your car is a place to park their butt from sitting on it and trashing your deck lid.

OK as long as I don't have to worry about updraft or downdraft or oversteer or understeer (I don't understand any of that stuff) then I'm going to go for it.
And Geezer, I had forgotten all about being disgruntled over someone trying to sit on your car. Thats another good reason.
