The chambered exhaust was never offered after 69, so I doubt anyone makes one. the 70 and later is longer and wider, so I think you would have some fitment issues.

That said, I have seen the resonators for sale in Jegs and Summit. You should be able to take these and have a custom chambered exhaust system fabricated by a muffler shop.

Anyone running a chambered exhaust system? I'm thinking about a stainless chambered system for my '69 COPO. I would still be using the stock BB exhaust manifolds. Is the noise bearable w/the stock manifolds?

I just put a chambered system on my '69. I have manifolds and smog still on the car. I love it! It's not really that loud until you step on it. I got an aluminized system from Gardner exhaust that is supposed to be an exact reproduction of the original. I took Clil's advice to not go with stainless because he said it expands when it gets hot and rattles. Be prepared to open your pocket book because I paid $938.70 for the concours package with shipping. I spoke with owner of the company when I ordered and he was very helpful and explained the system in detail. When you look at it and hear it go down the road it's worth every penny.

I have a ZL1 with orig. GM Chambered and a ZL1 Clone car with Repo Chambered. The real stuff is much quieter than the Repo. The Repo is loud enough that I would bet it is illegal. Great attention getter but after awhile can be annoying. A milder engine is probably quieter.

I have no direct experience w/the aluminized exhaust. How long will it go w/out rusting on a garaged car driven 500 - 1,000 miles per year in a southern climate? What are NOS systems going for these days? Thanks
