...gas without MTBE!! Has anyone noticed any differences with the new formulation of CA gas? I filled up Saturday and have been through half a tank and have been choking on fumes ever since. I did a search on "Gas Fumes" and found a recent thread and most roads seem to lead to the gas cap! I bet I didn't get mine on all the way or something.

Anyone had to re-tune/de-tune to run the stuff?? Any other problems??

I ran a half tank through my car this weekend and could not tell any difference. The next tank full may be a better tank to judge from though since I usually fill up when it gets to about 3/8 left. So I was really only running 5/8 of a tank of the new stuff. If I let it go to 3/8ths again and fill up, I'll be running (where's my slide rule?) about 7/8ths new formula.

As for the gas smell, did you still smell it when you were not in the car? You probably dumped gas on your shoes.

Had the same problem - started filling up to 2/3-3/4 tank and problem went away. I also changed my gas cap.
