Guys, I've got a T5 in my 69 with a hydraulic clutch setup. Broke the linkage that goes from the clutch pedal to the piston in the master cylinder that is attached to the firewall. Does anyone know whether this means a new master cylinder or can the rod that goes into it be replaced? The rod broke and is now bent about 30 degrees. Was a bitch trying to get it home - used a socket to "align" the two and kept pressure on the clutch the whole way home.

Marty,
It probably depends on the manufacturer of the master cylinder. I would give them a call and find out if the rod is available.

I would assume that the manufacturer is BorgWarner since it's attached to the T5. I didn't install the trans, it was there when I bought the car but I assume that it is out of a 3rd gen Camaro.

I got the rod straighted, but it doesn't seem to screw in - seems to be mounted in a swivel as it can rotate and pivot at the firewall. Would JB Weld work on something like this? I'm also thinking of threading the remaining rod and putting a rod coupling on it.
