Guys, I have a mechanical Autometer temp gauge that the cable was cut on. I've had to remove a section of the cable, but am unsure how to reconnect the ends. I tried using a copper crimp connector, but the gauge doesn't read correctly. Is it possible to repair this cable assembly?

Do you mean the cable that connects the sending unit to the gauge? I'm not sure about this, but I think once it is severed, it is junk.

Once the cable has been cut you need to replace the complete gauge, it cannot be reconnected.

Steve's right, once the cable is cut, the guage is junk. The cable is actually a thermocouple, and once a thermocouple is cut, it can't be repaired.
