Wondering if a 1972 front Subframe from a Nova with a six cylinder have existing V8 engine mount bolt holes predrilled in the frame?. Are those V8 mounting holes in the subframe already?

A few years ago I installed a 71 Nova subframe in a 68 Firebird I was restoring and the V-8 Pontiac mount holes were there along with the chevy v-8 mount holes so my guess is that you'll be ok. The only thing I noticed is that the holes for the sway bar bushing "U-brackets" were not tapped but they were there (Novas did not have a sway bar).

I believe that the 6 and v-8's use the same frame mounts and in the same location. Just from looking at the subframe on my 78 (I-6) and 77 (V-8) they look identical and it also appears they use the exact same holes.

the 73 up novas use the same engine mount for 6s and 8s, but the 68-72 cars use a different setup and have different frame mounts for the 6 and 8. Answering the question, the subframe will have all the holes needed, I have done this swap myself a few times. Also, the novas do use a front sway bar, not sure about the 4cyl cars but all the 6cyl novas I had did have the front bar.
