I have a question about subframe mounts, I installed poly mounts and now seem to have clearance problems with right-hand header touching firewall and trans crossmember going in. Does anybody know compressed height of mount, (distance from top of subframe to floor pan, also, what about aligning the subrame with the body. This is a 67 and is undergoing a complete restoration, Thanks

Hello 67 RS, Were these headers on car before you changed mounts? I would think you'd have more room, not less. When I did mine I had to add 1 1/2" of pipe to reach my exhaust manifold on right side. Of course new motor mounts too. Maybe you need to slide sub-frame foward? Keep us informed.

If you replaced them one side at a time, there shouldn't be alignment problems. The height should be OK but I'm not sure what procedure you followed from your post. Did you use stock height bushings? I put solids in and was OK on header clearance. You can align the subframe. Try a search of the posts as Art Rasmussen had posted a few on the subject of subframes - God Bless him. If you still have ?'2, let me know.

There are alignment holes just forward/outboard (?) of the front bolt, did you use em? Detailed in the assembly manual.

If it's a TH350 mount they are a bear to get in or out unless you loosen one side of the rear-most subframe. TH400 will go in/out without a problem.

Did the headers fit before the new body bushings, or is this a first time fitting?
