A few weeks ago I traded my bike for a th400 that I was told was rebuilt.Just a few days after that I traded the th400 for a super t10 4 speed and factory firebird shifter attached. It has 3 rings on the input. This trans will be going behind my 383 that should have around 475 ft/lb.Ive been told I should have used the th400 but my car is already setup for manual and I think 4 speeds are better for street anyway. Is there anything I can do to beef up the super t10? Ive heard of people putting a steel plate in the middle bearing retainer, where do I get one of those? Ive been told you can put a strap around the case to keep it from stretching, how do I do that? If theres anything I can do to make this transmission stronger fill me in on it,Im wondering if theres a way to heat and cool the gears many times to stress relieve them.Anyway, what can I do? Is the super t10 worth more than the th400? I hope I didnt make a bad trade.

I like my super T-10 I don't think you will blow it up because they are pretty strong have you checked out the input shaft and the yoke those things are beefy. It sounds like you have the 2.64 first gear ratio.
