I had a 68 grill in my 67 camaro, now that the car is painted, the shop says the grill don't fit around the hood latch ???
is the 67 hood latch diff. from the 68 or does the shop have something backwards ???
this is a base coupe not an R/S

either way it comes home tonight I'll finish it my self!

Cool

If I remember, 67 hood latch, handle is below grille; 68 is above grille.

Therefore, a 67 grille will not work on 68, 68 grille will work on 67. The 68 needs a hole at top middle right side to reach in with fingers to release hood latch.

The 67 and 68 standard hood latch is the same and should work unless they used part of a 67 upper and lower grill trim or put them in wrong with a 68 grill (they are diferent sizes, both year and upper and lower).
The RS has the hood latch release arm below the grill for both years and uses the same one.

The 67 standard latch in in the center while the 68 is to the right of center. The RS latches are the sam. I just looked at my 67 and 68 std grille cars.

Camaroguy,

You got me thinking (very dangerous for me) so I went out and looked at my 67's and 68's standard hood latches (I stripped the 68 before I sold it)and they are both the same. When was your 68 built, mine was in Sept of 67. Mine could be a left over from previous production?

The 68 was built Jan 68 and the 67 was built Nov 66. I checked also in my Classic Industries catalog and they are listed differently as well as the photos.
